Hey, I'm Jac!
I am an artist and the owner of Witch in the Woods here in the quaint town of Larder Lake. I first began to professionally pursue my life long passion for the arts by studying fine arts at Georgian College for 4 years, where I gained a deeper understanding of my creative process and expanded my technical skills. I have always looked for ways to grow as an artist, whether that takes form through experimenting with new materials, collaborating with other creatives or learning new skills. So naturally, after graduating, I quickly fell into the world of tattooing. I started tattooing in 2013, following a year-long (not so great) apprenticeship, and I’ve never looked back! (ok, maybe once or twice during Covid lockdowns)
What I find to be the most fascinating thing about tattooing is its ritualistic nature. Tattoos have the power to serve as a form of self-expression and can facilitate healing and transformation. With this in mind, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for my clients, helping them to express themselves in a way that feels authentic and empowering.
My art practice is centered around the natural world; I draw inspiration from the organic forms and intricate patterns found in flora and fauna around us. Whether I’m creating a delicate floral pattern or a bold, graphic animal design, I aim to convey a sense of reverence for nature in each and every piece. I take pride in my work, and my goal is to use my art to help people connect with and appreciate the beauty of the natural world and, more importantly, themselves. Tattoos can be a powerful form of self-expression, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of each of my clients journeys.
